Well hi!
How I got into Wedding Planning:
Shortly after graduating college I attended a wedding for a friend. At the end of the day, all of their loved ones were there to witness their union and the love the couple had for each other was beautiful, but I couldn’t help but notice how things seemed to be chaotic behind the scenes. To name a few, the bride had decided to cook the food for 75 guests and was up all night cooking before the wedding, there was no point person to set up the reception space, so I volunteered to help set up so the bride could go put on her dress and get ready to walk down the aisle, the person put in charge of music during the ceremony clearly hadn’t practiced and the songs didn’t start on time as the bridal party and bride walked down the aisle and it was absolutely freezing and there were no heaters anywhere in sight. I couldn’t help but think if there had been more planning and communication it could have been a lot smoother and less stressful for the bride.
Throughout my career in the Health Industry, I also had the opportunity to grand open 3 gyms as an Operations Manager and then an Assistant General Manager. While I have always had a passion for sports and fitness, I discovered another passion – event planning. While grand opening clubs I got to hire and train a staff, handle RSVP’s for VIP events, create timelines for the Grand Opening event, execute and coordinate a club set up of the equipment, club supplies and a retail store. I realized I absolutely loved being the person in charge and having people come to me when they needed an answer. There was so much build up to the event and I loved the pressure of making sure it was a success.
My mission as a Wedding Planner:
It is the hope of all wedding planners that the couple has a stress free wedding day and doesn’t have to work at all! I also want to make the planning process just as fun and stress fee. This will vary, but typically planning a wedding is a year long process. There is so much to do! Research and book vendors, invite and communicate to all guests, design a theme and layout for the event, coordinate the timeline for the day of with vendors, guests and bridal party. With all this in mind, remember that you will only be engaged once! This process should be positive and something that brings the two of you even closer. It is my mission to make the planning process a positive experience by being there when you have questions/concerns, plan the entire process if you want me to and be there as someone you can lean on (literally if your feet can’t take the dancing anymore on the night of your wedding).
